This is satin-weave polyester, not mulberry silk. Plenty of shops sell exactly this fabric as “100% silk” — we would rather tell you. The smoothness that protects your hair comes from the weave, and satin delivers that at a fraction of the price. Real silk is a lovely thing; it simply costs several times more than this.

How to care for it

1. Machine wash cold, on a gentle cycle
2. Wash separately from towels and anything with zips
3. Tumble dry low or hang to dry
4. Iron on low if needed — satin scorches easily
